Under the interdisciplinary roof of Social and Cultural Sciences you can chose which of the disciplines will be the framework of your studies.

You can chose 2 out of the 4 main discipline focuses of the Social and Cultural Sciences Faculty:
  • Cultural History, example of course offering:
    • Recalling European politics after 1945 from a transnational and comparative perspective
    • The historical survey of the world. Remembering history in modern times.
  • Comparative Social Studies, example of course offering:
    • The (philosophical) knowledge of evil
    • Politics in Post-fascist Democracies: Germany, Italy, Japan
    • Institutions and politics of the European Union
  • Linguistics, example of course offering:
    • Bi-cultural families
    • The language of advertising
  • Literature, example of course offering:
    • Cross-border writers of Eastern European literature
    • Narratives, Truths, and Taboos in film


Through selective course choices you can create a unique aspect to your discipline of study.

The choice of participating in events or courses of a neighbouring faculty – law or business sciences – gives you a glimpse of the typical practices, mindset and work methods of a completely different profession.

Combined with your study tracks you chose two languages and complete an at least three month long time spent abroad, either as a study or as an internship abroad.
